OUR GOAL is to unite ... the entire community

Our goal is to unite neighbors, businesses and the entire community with our vision for Independence Day at Maunalua Bay.

THE EVENT

The Independence Day at Maunalua Bay Foundation provides an annual event designed to build awareness, pride and appreciation for our beautiful home beside the bay. This community focused event includes entertainment, involvement and participation of merchants, community groups and individuals whose combined efforts will light up the evening sky with a spectacular "world class" fireworks display over the beautiful Maunalua Bay.

DETAILS

On Friday, July 4, 2008, the City and County of Honolulu, local Hawaii Kai merchants and entertainers, including Henry Kapono and emcees Guy Hagi and Kim Gennaula of KGMB, will fill the day from 2:00 p.m., leading up to a spectacular fireworks display from a barge in Maunalua Bay at 8:00 p.m.  With this inaugural event, finally East Honolulu residents will have an opportunity to spend their Independence Day in Hawaii Kai, enjoying the festivities right in their own neighborhood, avoiding the hassle of driving in to town, fighting through traffic and searching for non-existent parking on this traditionally busy holiday.  More importantly for you, the Hawaii Kai merchant, it means more business on that day, as well as an opportunity to promote community goodwill and get to know your patrons better.

Our Mission

The mission of Independence Day at Maunalua Bay Foundation is: TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE ON A NON-DISCRIMINATORY BASIS TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE ATTEMPTING TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION AND TRAINING.

Our Tax Status

The Independence Day at Maunalua Bay Foundation is a Hawaii non-profit corporation exempt from federal income taxation under IRC 501(c)3. Donations are tax deductible for U.S. citizens. For donors outside of the United States, please consult with your tax advisor about whether your donation will be tax deductible.
